NEW YORK, NY (June 1, 2022) – Hearst Autos today announced that Jason Hunt, formerly of Yahoo!, has been named group sales director, west. The announcement was made by Hearst Autos Vice President of Sales Cameron Albergo, to whom Hunt will report.

In his new role, Hunt will lead the West Coast sales team and oversee the advertising and partnership strategies for several of Hearst Autos’ largest automotive clients, including Genesis, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Mazda, and Toyota.

Hunt joins Hearst Autos after 18 years at Yahoo! (formerly Verizon Media), where he had been senior category sales director, western region, for the automotive, travel, and technology sectors since 2017. In that role, Hunt was responsible for the success of multiple sales teams across many platforms including programmatic, branded content, search, social, AR/VR, Xbox, Microsoft, AOL, and Yahoo. He also managed senior agency and client relationships across leading Fortune 500 companies. From 2004 to 2017, Hunt was senior sales director for automotive and entertainment, where he developed content-partnership deals and strategic integration programs for the auto and entertainment verticals.

Earlier in his career, Hunt was Microsoft’s western region sales director, where he created advertising partnerships for the company’s interactive TV platform. He begain his career in local television, managing broadcast campaigns for NBC and marketing sports content for FOX in San Francisco.

Hunt joins the Hearst Autos Santa Monica office today.
